It's been a while....

Yes, I am still alive and kicking!! Sorry it's been so long.  Between taxes, an upcoming birthday party and many other happenings here, just haven't had a chance to post.  But here I am on another "snow day"- can't get outside, nor can Jared.  I feel like I am soooo behind on my yardwork, that when spring finally comes, it will be too late to get the gardens ready.  Also, wanted to let everyone know that we will be at THE GATHERING SHOW in Knoxville, TN the first weekend in April.  More information will be posted soon.  Anyway, since I haven't even taken the Christmas stuff out of the shop, I am hoping an upcoming show will get me motivated!!

SHOW IN VIRGINIA...

Happy New Year to everyone!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and started off the New Year with a BANG!!!  If you are out and about in Virginia this Saturday, be sure to check out a show at SOUTHERN STAR- Donna Smith's shop.  We will be busy hopefully working in the yard, cleaning up sticks and doing a final leaf pick up (I hope).  Remember, to call ahead if you would like to stop by the shop anytime.

Why???

I just had to do this post this morning as I still am so saddened by the tragedy in Connecticut.  As a former elementary teacher and now a mom, I just cannot imagine the absolute grief the families of the lost children and staff are going through.  As I put Jared to bed last night, all I could think about was the mothers and fathers who would never be able to put their children to bed again.   I had cried so much last night, when I went to bed, all I could do was pray for these families.  As I look at our Christmas tree with all of the gifts for Jared, I could only think of the parents, grandparents, etc. that have their presents ready under the tree for the little ones- now they will never have another Christmas.
   All I can think is to hold Jared tighter and to always tell the ones I love how much they mean to me!!  Continue to pray for all of these families and pray for this nation.

Christmas at the Cabin...

Christmas is coming....

Yes - the shop will be open during Christmas!!   With so much happening at church this weekend, I will finally be able to open up on Friday, Dec. 7 and Sat., Dec. 8 from 11-4 both days.  We will also be open Dec. 14/15 the same hours.  If you are in the area, however, and need to stop by any other time, always feel free to call.   The shop is just brimming full of wonderful primitive antiques - both large and small.  Fresh greenery will fill the cabin and will also be available for purchase.  Call or e-mail for questions or directions to the shop.

Fall sale this weekend at the shop...

The shop will be open this Friday, Nov. 9 from 1-5 and on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 11-4.  We will be marking down all remaining fall handmades and also some other items throughout the shop as well.  If you haven't been in a while, stop by to see what's new.

I just wanted to send out a Happy Halloween message to all you ghouls and goblins out there!!  I hope everyone is doing well and if you are in the path of the upcoming storm, you  are safe.  We are only dealing with colder temps and lots of wind!!  If you are headed out for Halloween, be safe and stay warm.
