A Sunday outing...

Sunday, we visited a beautiful farm down in Liberty just about 20 minutes south of us called RISING MEADOW FARM.  They raise beautiful sheep, along with llamas, chickens and cows.  It was a great afternoon for getting out and seeing what other folks are doing.  Jared enjoyed visiting the sheep and checking out the llamas.  He even got to find an egg in one of the chicken's boxes.  My plan was to get chickens a few years ago but that got put on hold with the addition of the donkeys.  Soon though I hope.  Enjoy the pics of Jared ( and the sheep).

In the garden...

Okay, yesterday as I was working at the barn in our vegetable garden, I thought, I need my camera to take some new pics.  Well, I didn't get to it, but they are coming.  We are re-doing around the fence and I wanted to show off our blackberry bushes- they are gorgeous- if I may say.  Can't wait to have some fresh blackberries to make cobblers this year.  These are a thornless variety and are doing very well.  We visited a local farm on Sunday- RISING MEADOW FARM.  I was inspired to get home and get to work!!  These folks have a beautiful place and raise several different breeds of sheep- hint hint!!!  It's great to get out and see what other folks are doing.  I will try to add some pics from Sunday that we took.  We are getting some much needed rain today, so I am trying to catch up on inside projects!!  Jared has been busy making great gifts for some special ladies in his life for mother's day.  Watch for more on the progress on our little farm!

The CROSSWALK...

As a remembrance of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, our church, Tabernacle United Methodist, has a CROSSWALK through downtown Greensboro on Good Friday. This year, I was able to participate in this silent and humble walk. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to making it part of my Easter celebration each year. Thanks to Andy Griffin for the photos, for more, please visit his blog at Online Gallery of Crosswalk photos.
PS I am wrapped up in the orange TN sweatshirt. It was a bit nippy!! Have a wonderful Easter!!
****I have tried about 5 times to put on the pics- no luck- just check out Andy's link Thanks!

Re-opening of the shop

Okay friends, I think I am almost ready. I am planning to re-open the shop beginning Friday, March 30. I am working day and night to get it ready again. I am excited ( and a little nervous) to get things going again. Although I sold out of several of my new handmades at the show, I will be working on some more goodies for the shop to be ready in time for the opening. The shop will be open by appointment- we love for folks to call- it's no problem!! The weekend of the re-opening we will be open on Friday, March 30 from 1-4 and Saturday, March 31 from 11-4. I hope you get a chance to stop by. Please note that there will not be a sign at the end of our driveway. We have had some strange visitors, so it's best not to draw unnecessary attention!! ANyway, if you can't make it that weekend, as I said call anytime. Thanks and will keep you posted with any updates.
